Nicola is an experienced senior leader with over 30 years’ experience of delivering success in large and complex organisations. She has extensive experience leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver excellence in a range of situations. From award-winning business and technology transformation programmes, to leading the build and delivery of Census 2021, her career has cut across a range of sectors including Local Government, Higher Education and the Civil Service. 


A Fellow of the Institute of Leadership, a graduate of the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School and a chartered IT professional, Nicola has senior leadership experience in both the digital and transformation spaces. In her multiple Director roles, she has used her enthusiastic yet calm style combined with her ability to deliver at pace to succeed in the most difficult of circumstances. 


Nicola’s passion is leading and coaching people to enable them to be their best selves. She is a qualified coach who uses coaching to support leaders build confidence in themselves and their abilities. She has supported a huge range of senior leaders in their delivery of critical projects, as well as working with senior leadership teams to develop their effectiveness.


Bringing her varied experience as a pragmatic senior leader, Nicola uses empathy and honesty in her coaching approach to support improved self-awareness and a better understanding of complex problems. She believes coaching can support all leaders in their personal growth and improved performance as a leader.

My Approach To Coaching


Coaching is a set of one-to-one conversations that will allow us to build a relationship which will enable you to become a more effective leader. Coaching provides space for you, as a leader, to explore and understand your behaviours and relationships learning how to release your untapped potential. Coaching allows you to better understand your strengths and work with your blind spots resulting in improved personal and team performance.


The coaching conversation we will have will be:

  • Led by you– I use a range of tools and techniques, but ultimately there is no one single playbook. I am curious about you and what makes you tick and I will be guided by you and what you need.
  • Open and honest– we will form an effective partnership, as equals, to create a relationship that will bring clarity to your thinking and allow you to consider new perspectives in your work.
  • Challenging– to move you beyond your existing known thinking and experiences.
  • Motivating– bringing energy to your thinking about change and your desire to improve the way you do things.
  • Supportive– coaching is a safe space for you to bring difficult issues. I am empathetic and non-judgmental and we will work together to help you find the right solutions.
